Newborn photography - Otillie
This was a very special newborn photoshoot in more ways than one. And all of them are, trust me. But why exactly has this one been put up there as The One? Let me tell you why.
It was my very first newborn photo session!
Yes, that’s right. And oh my, how nervous I was. I spent hours and hours looking for inspiration and ideas to make it perfect. I went through all my blankets and headbands over and over again, just to make sure I have everything ready for this photoshoot. I had everything ready and there I went.
The photoshoot was arranged for Otillie’s own home, which was lovely. When I arrived in mid-morning the house was still quiet and had that lovely early-morning lazy feeling. The one you have when you wake up first on Christmas morning and know that something special has happened and there is celebration in the air. As I arrived the little baby had just had a peaceful feed with mummy and I could quietly set up our photoshoot area. Otillie’s mummy could easily feed her whenever she needed during the session and there were lots of feeds.
Once she was ready with a full belly, we placed her in mummy’s arms and magic happened. We didn’t need any props. The most magical beautiful place was just the two being together, cuddling and smiling.
This in-home session was perfect for Otillie and her mummy. Otillie was an early bird and arrived two weeks before her due date so mummy needed extra strength for looking after her little baby. Leaving the house wasn’t an option, and so a session when a photographer comes to her house was ideal. Baby was very calm and relaxed and it made this session even more special.
