Maternity photography - Izzy

Izzy is an amazing woman, a mummy now to two babies. She is a friend of mine from times when we both breastfed our babies and met up during the only support there was for mums in our area during Covid times, a breastfeeding mum group. Izzy was expecting her second baby and I wanted to give something special to her during her second pregnancy, knowing how much we missed out, especially as a first time mum. I knew how free spirited and close to nature is Izzy and I had this amazing place in mind for something very special. I just could not wait to have a photoshoot here. And when Izzy gave me her available date, I was over the moon.

It was a very pleasant and warm early summer morning. The green of the wheat field and blue tone of the sky was stunning. Izzy’s choice of dress was a perfect match with all the surrounding colours. After our session Izzy send me a very heartwarming message and thanked for making her feel beautiful for the first time since having her first baby.

My favourite place to shoot maternity sessions is outside in the field, forest or park. I love how all these places complement women when they are expecting their baby and growing according to nature. Being pregnant is the most natural thing in the world and why not to celebrate this occasion in the surroundings of ever growing mother nature.

I love to take those close up shoots of baby bump. Each and every one is unique and has a different shape and roundness. It is a lovely memory to look back after baby is born to remember how it felt when little baby was growing and kicking inside you and mummy was the one keeping baby safe and warm.
